06 Oct The Perilous Road to Cheer Dance
JUAN SAYS: Our hearts were broken as we saw our favorite varsity teams lose their bid to the UAAP Cheerdance Competition crown last Saturday. Surely, many of us didn’t understand the scoring given by the judges and we all expressed our dismay through social media. After all, we feel for the cheerdancers knowing the grueling hours they put in just to give a performance come competition day. Sores, bruises, torn muscles and broken bones are just some if not all of the hurdles that cheer dancers face each day. All these, plus the trust they put on peers as they fly from one arms to the other forms a bond amongst team members that nothing can sever. Well, that is, until someone chooses to get left behind. Together they stand, together they fall, or someone keeps hanging on. Click the video below to get a clear picture of what we mean.
