JUAN SAYS: To quote Pope Francis during his inflight interview on the Charlie Hebdo issue: “One cannot provoke, one cannot insult other people’s faith, one cannot make fun of faith.” In truth, provoking has 2 sides, the provoker and the provokee. Intentions maybe clean but the receiver reacts differently. As stated by Lara Quigaman, she had no intentions of saying anything negative about the pope nor the Catholics, however, people think otherwise. If you look at it at face value, there is indeed nothing wrong with what she posted. It is, after all a bible verse, a direct quote from the Book that guides every Christian (Catholics are Christians too right?) believer. Besides, wasn’t it Pope Francis himself who said: “Don’t focus on me, focus on Jesus,” which is exactly the verse of what Lara was tweeting about. Sadly some people just don’t get it.
