19 Jun A man can be a woman, but she can’t be black? Please help us understand
JUAN SAYS: In the past month, we have been shocked by the internet over a multitude of things, but the biggest of which is the one with Caitlyn Jenner and Rachel Dolezal. The entire world was dead set on accepting Caitlyn but was extremely anti Rachel’s belief that she is black. From our end, we couldn’t help but laugh at the irony
Imagine that on one end, we’re accepting men who transform into women, but are angry when a white woman wants to be black. What’s wrong with it? Rachel celebrates a culture that is not entirely like her own, and we mock her? When all of us are screaming for equality (women, transgenders, etc.), many are fast to snatch it from Rachel who may have realized that in her heart she is indeed “black.” Why aren’t they given equal rights? Just because of color? Is that entirely different from one’s gender? If we’re really gungho on equality shouldn’t it be in all things?
Please help us understand. We really don’t get this.
