18 Jul The 8th: HIPO ISSUE – Editor’s Note
It is a matter of perspective. Wrong or right we publish it and leave it to the reading public to form their opinions and take a stand. This is JUAN’s 8th issue and we can’t feel any better.
The past issues have gotten us one viral story after another, and there are days when we can’t help but wonder, where did those numbers come from?
I was once asked how do we gather so much stories, and how do we pick the stories that would go viral almost every week. To be really honest, it is just a matter of feels. There are a good number of stories that don’t make it to our website just because we don’t feel like putting it. There are stories that don’t see the light of day, in the JUAN universe for that matter, because it doesn’t interest us. And there will be stories which we don’t put out simply because we find it so blah we could almost taste it.
Everything in life is a matter of feels. Your feels may not be our feels, and ours may not be yours. But this doesn’t make us two opposing poles of the planet. It only means that we have differences in opinions. We look at things differently, from different perspectives. But that doesn’t make us any more right than you are. We are not above each other, nor should we feel like we are. We don’t write or put out stories to make you feel dumb, nor to make you feel that you should know about this shit or else you are branded as stupid. No, we don’t do that.
If anything, we want you to feel that you are not alone, that there are certain journeys in life that you don’t have to walk alone, because other people feel the same way as you do. You may be confused about certain issues and we are here NOT to explain it to you or educate you, but we are here to let you know that we are confused too. We are not a know-it-all kind of web magazine, because we have accepted the fact that everyone is limited, everyone has feels that others will never get, and that is okay.
Our stories do not require one to have a master’s degree on anything, nor does it require you to think how the scholarly, and those bitches who only write for themselves, think. Nosebleed. Paki-explain. Love you! We are NOT in to hifalutin words nor topics, and should we encounter such, we would either gladly refer you to those websites that aim to do just that – confuse us even more.
On our 8th issue, we urge you to touch with us, to feel with us, to peel the layers of every issue /topic we put out by writing your own take on it in our comments page. You may agree or disagree with us, and that is okay. The point here is you took a stand, wrong or right, you took a stand, because in real life, one can’t paddle their oars in two streams. Either you are with the current or against it. You can’t float on issues, because floating only means one thing, you are dead. And we don’t talk to dead people here.
Let’s welcome our feels, textures, 3rd or 4th dimensions with a bang. Hipo mo, hipo ko, maghipuan na tayo!
See you in our comments boxes! We’d love to hear your thoughts.
