10 Jun How can we take this Senator seriously?
JUAN SAYS: Let’s put this simply – you, our dear Senator is Exhibit A of why the anti-political dynasty bill SHOULD be passed. And the sooner, the better.“Para kasi sa amin mas important is the will of the people, di ba? We subject ourselves to an election process. So ang number one din na kailangan is to ensure a clean and honest election,” she said when asked if she supports the anti-political dynasty bill.
Binay’s father is Vice President Jejomar Binay, her sister is Makati Rep. Mar-Len Abigail Binay, and her brother is Makati City Mayor Junjun Binay.
JUAN SAYS: Please explain the billions found in your father’s bank accounts and his cohorts. Please explain the overpriced cakes you give out to Makati senior citizen residents. Please explain the many reports on the ways your family has managed to amass a hefty sum of money when the only career you had was in government where the salary is around P30,000 a month. Many Makati residents also receive the same monthly salary BUT do not have billions in the bank. Please teach us how to do it because we want to be RICH too. Is this what your family is in power for?
Besides, wasn’t it your father who was an advocate of anti-political dynasty way back in 1986? How soon do you forget.
In an interview with reporters, Binay said what is alarming are those families who are occupying several appointed posts in the government, apparently referring to Budget Secretary Florencio Abad, who has nine relatives in the administration.
“Ang mas nakakabahala sa akin [ay], kung natatandaan ninyo, may lumabas na news story na apparently this family na halos ilan silang appointed to very important positions,” she said.
Abad’s daughter Julia Abad is the Presidential Management Staff head while his wife is Batanes Rep. Henedina Abad, who is also a House Deputy Speaker.
His other relatives include his cousins Ramon Barona (RTC Batanes judge) and Fernando Barona (MTC, Ivana Batanes bailiff); niece Myla Salvacion Pisig (Office of the Appointments Secretary director IV); nephew-in-law Parrish Pisig (Philippine National Oil Company senior account management specialist); and nephews Arvin Kim Barona (National Commission on Indigeneous Peoples tribal affairs assistant), Marc Angelo Abad (House of Representatives PAO 2), and John Dominic Abad (Veterans Memorial Medical Center employee).
JUAN SAYS: Appointed or elected, it is the same banana. It’s the POT calling the KETTLE BLACK. Hinahabol ka daw ng kidlat sa Makati kahapon? Luh.
“Why limit yung choices ng mga botante just because we share the same last name,” she said.
“Unang-una, di ba may pamilya ng doktor, may pamilya ng lawyers, in fact, paulit-ulit ko ngang sinasabi din na, at least, ikaw kung gusto mong maging doktor katulad ng magulang mo, all you have to do is take a course, and then pass the board or bar, pwede ka nang magpractice ng profession, whether doctor or lawyer.”
